An ophthalmologist (Afrikaans: Oftalmoloog/Oog spesialis) is a medical specialist trained in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the eyes, eyelids and orbits (eye sockets).

Dr York is a comprehensive general Ophthalmologist with a wealth of experience in the treatment of a wide range of both common and rare eye disorders. Dr York is well experienced in the treatment of both children and adults, having worked at Groote Schuur hospital and Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Cape Town, as well as in a well renowned Eye Hospital in Melbourne Australia.
